A text-book on this subject has been long overdue and the authors are to be congratulated on the production of such an interesting and readable volume which contains much important work hitherto accessible to the student only in scattered writings. The book includes admirable descriptions of modern industrial processes, viz., mining, iron and steel working, textile industries, potteries and glass making, chemical manufacturers and dangerous trades.
